Wireless devices and applications Essay Example for Free

Wireless devices and applications Essay 1.0 Introduction Most of mobile organizations make use of wireless operations this is because they know that with this operation it is a bit simple to use and the costs that is related to it is not very high. This has the indication that most of the organizations are ready to make use of it because they have assurance that it has privacy protection. With change in the technology in the whole world most of customers want privacy and better connectivity at the same time that are not mutually exclusive. There is a broad acceptance of WDA in countries that elected to include wireless numbers in the DA database from the inception of the wireless industry. (Green, 2002) 2.0 Wireless Device Application The wireless devices are common as they are more in front line with assurance of sales and service provision this has the indication that most of the companies ensure that they make use of the wireless devices so that they can be in a position to come up with the right communication to their employees. In this I mean that the employees who are employed in sales organization have to make use of this communication so that they can be in a Position to information their customers what are required. Therefore they have to be in contact with customers if they have to succeed in their sales, this is because lack of functional bridge between the office communications infrastructure and the mobile environment will cause a lot of problems for mobile employees, their organization and their customers which will result to communication delay that will slow down the operation of a business.   Most of the problems that arise are multiple contact numbers, frequent missed calls, voice mail jail, multiple voice mail boxes and expensive conferencing. Most of the organizations are spending a lot of income in the wireless communications service in every data this is because it is a communication that has to be funded so that they can keep their customers informed. This will mean that if they fail to pay everything that is required by the wireless communication company then they will not be in a position to inform the customers about the company products which will not affect the growth of the company. There are numerous carrier services like long distance sertivices. These problems that take place like many missed calls come about because the customers, suppliers and employees do not know which phone   number to call   so that they can reach the mobile employee. In other words this will mean that with many numbers they are not in a position to know which number will reach a targeted customer this will mean that they will just call numbers which will not be effective and the customers will not be reached as it is required. Therefore the employees will face difficulties in dealing with these problems mainly due to the fact that they should be in a point of receiving the calls of the most important customers but instead they get calls of people who are not important to the organization in terms of raising its sales. The problem of unnecessary voicemail jail come in due ton the fact that the mobile users attempt to connect with callers after missing the original call attempt. (Green, 2002) This will mean that employees will face a lot of problems due to the attempt to connect with customers   as   the first call has failed then one will switch off to other calls meaning that they will not be in a position to get the   customers in a easy way. The problem of wasted time and wireless usage expense which is caused by constant calls ins to check mail by out of office employees. The most pressing problem is the expense that has to be taken by a organization that makes use of the wireless communication this will mean that this communication is not that simple as they might think of it because there are charges that are supposed to be paid failure to which an organization will not be in a position to have expansion in its operations. The charges that are supposed to be paid by an organization will be in office or their home calls and still the calls that are made between the employees where a company has to make long distance rates at a high cost. This will mean that a company will have high charges as it tries to conduct most of the employees and important people that are supposed to be in the organization in other words there are people who are supposed to ensure that the organization is not facing problems in its operations these people have to be conducted and this will mean that wherever they have to be reached any time when they are required. Still a high cost will be in the large administrative effort in that the managers and all the officials in an organization have to ensure that they come up with the approval of wireless expenses meaning that each person who is involved in the organization must be conducted. Therefore they will have to ensure that the expenses that are spend  Ã‚   are in line with the operations of the organization meaning that the managers may not be able to approve the expense and this will lead to lack of communication because these costs have to be paid and a lot of time is wasted in conducting every official in organization. (Dipietro, 2004) Still the organization will face the expenses of inability to control mobile communications meaning that these devices have to be checked frequently and this is a cost that is to be incurred in an organization. Therefore the expense that is required to be covered in the wireless communication is very high and most of the organizations will end up failing in operations because they will not be able to curb the expenses. The problem of wireless devices and applications lies on the expenses that have to be incurred in an organization. This will mean that if it is a sales organization it has to ensure that the customers are informed of the costs of products and convince them that the product is the best. This will take time because most of the customers can not be easily convinced therefore what they end up doing will be to have high expenses that will be charged by the wireless company.   The expense problem has coverage of every activity that is carried out if it is   missed calls then still there are charges that have to be charged meaning that organization should have a plan on the use of wireless   devices so that they can reduce the costs. The other charges are on the maintenance of these devices this is because these devices are very delicate and should be taken with a lot of concern therefore what one has to do will be to ensure that they have the right maintenance to reduce costs of repair but the problem is that they have to be checked frequently meaning that when there is a problem a high cost has to be invested if they have to communicate well with their customers. This problem of expense leads a company to a point in which it has to make a decision so that there can be a solution to the problem because a company that operates without keeping in mind the costs that have to be incurred then it will not be able to succeed in all the operations and expansion of such organization is very hard. Therefore a sales company should have a plan that will give it guidelines as they have to make use of this wireless devices because it is a fast way that can be used to inform the customers but the problem of expense has to be dealt with so that they can be sure that even if they have to spend in the wireless devices they are sure that costs is not very high. (Dipietro, 2004) The communication efficiency solution will be to come up with the best applications that will lead to a solution to this problem. Like for example there is the blue butler which is a suite that is unique and has powerful communication applications. This suite is designed so that it can increase the business processes for the enterprise so that they can drive revenue and improve the service delivery, ensure that a company will have customer retention and competition is maintained. This is a software platform that enables the communication to be effective in an organization and it is made effective through ensuring that the existing and evolving communication infrastructure are maintained. The organization is in a position to get the   benefits   of the latest communication   efficiencies   not minding about the equipment, network services or the communications   devices that are in use now or in future   which an  Ã‚   organization will be able to deploy. This will mean that a sales organization that has to succeed in its operations will have to use this blue butler so that it can have benefits that are supposed to be received if it has to operate   Ã‚  without facing problems of communication delays. The implementation plan that is taken by a sales company will be targeted to the blue butler   which is affordable   digital call recording technology that   ensure that the  Ã‚   company will benefit from the recording   calls. In the implementation plan that what is put in place is the dramatic quality improvement in that a sales company will be in a position to have high quality goods this is because the employees are at their professional be st in knowing that management is right this has the indication that the employees have to treat the customers with respect and professionalism so that the customers can know that they are part of the organization and have to keep everything the way it is required. (Chris, 2005) Therefore the staff will have limited time that is lost in unproductive activities as the internal calls will be focused on business issues. Another thing is that   Ã‚  the   Ã‚  delivery is continuous, feedback and best practice training in that the training of staff is done on the best practices that will lead to expansion in an organization. In the training they know the behavior that is accepted by all customers and how to improve the operational results that is through effective telephone practice. This will mean that in the use of the   telephone then the customers will be free as they will be given what they require in other words in the training that is offered to them then they are in a position to know what they have to do so that they can   reach the customers without delays. There will be fast dispute   resolution in that incase a company is involved in problems then the solution will be tackled without wasting time this is because they   know   what they are supposed to do so that they can have reduced   conflict if they have to   win many customers. This means that they will have reliance on face based recordings to eliminate no win confrontations that will lead to time wastage in unproductive activities. There is reduction of errors and omission claims that are can take place in a sales organization this will mean that there will be maintenance of good customer relations that will be referred to facts rather than hearsay cases. This will imply that the errors that can be involved in an organization due to  Ã‚   simple mistakes will be catered for this is because they are in a position to know what is required of them in other words if the organization requires high sales then this has to be received only through cooperation and relations with each other in an organization. The customers should be taken as a part of organization which will lead to high expansion of organization. (Chris, 2005) In the implementation plan there will be streamlining of order processing in that with the use of recorded phone verifications that are used as audio signatures to book then it means that an organization will be able to eliminate wastage of time and errors that are likely to take place in organization. This means that the order processing will be done with a lot of concern and in the time that is required. The organization will be able to ensure that they comply with  Ã‚   costs that are charged this is only opposable if an organization is in a position to come up with the best  Ã‚   communications in other words in the implementation plan that organization will be in a position to ensure that they will not face high expenses of communication that might interfere with the operations of organization.   The organization will be in a position to ensure that they come up with the right access to the customers this is because in the plan they have dealt with the problems that might arise in the organization itself, staff and employees therefore the organization will access the problems that may raise and deal with them before they lead to more harm. In this I mean that an organization that makes use of blue butler as a solution to the problem of expenses that are faced in organization due to use of wireless communication then they will be in a position to ensure that they are able to operate with limited cases of lack of operations and at the same time they will have high costs. Therefore all organizations should ensure that the problems that are linked to wireless devices and applications are dealt with so that they have high expansion. The technology improvements will enable the building of information systems which can be used in any place at any time. (Basili, 1990) This imply that companies that make use of mobile devices will be in a position to   rise its production, ensure that the procedures are flexible and change the services that are given to their customers and   ensure that information is accurate for decision making. Generally what I mean is that organizations have to face a lot of problems but what they have to do so that they can deal with their problems will be to adopt a service that will be less costly and will deal with problems that are faced   in an organization. In a sales organization most of the problems that are related to communication will be to reach employees and customers so that they can have high sales. Therefore no organization will be able to reach all the customers without a link to communication therefore with the technology changes that are taking place in the world today the organizations should be in a position to change with the technology so that they will not be left out in expansion. In this I mean that the customers want to be reached and convinced about a product therefore to make sure this is reached then it is only their the use of the right communication measures that will ensure that they are   given information that is best but the problem is cost that has to be incurred. A company has to choose a communication linkage that will reach many customers in a short time and with limited costs incurred. This is mainly because they are supposed to ensure that they reach all and the only way through will be  Ã‚   wireless devices and other devices that are in use today. Therefore a company that has to come up and be successful in its operations will be through the use of communication that is not very expensive and will reach many customers. (Basili, 1990) 3.0 Conclusion In the use of wireless devices and applications there are many dangers that might come up but the solutions will be that the company will have high production because the customer will be reached with limited time lost. Therefore companies should make sure that in any information system that is to be used then they have the right procedure taken so that they have communication channel been complete. In this I mean that with high costs in communication many companies will not be in a point of reaching all their customers but to deal with this problem then what they will have to do will be to come up with communication that is less costly and will cover many customers.

Drug Wars In Mexico: Overview of Cartels

Drug Wars In Mexico: Overview of Cartels A wise man once said, Im the king of the trap, El Chapo Jr, this man was 2 Chainz. Im talking about El Chapo and Mexican drug wars in general. Unlike most other research paper topics, drug wars are going on right now. In fact, from the time that you woke up yesterday morning to the time that you went to sleep last night, about 103 people died because of the drug war. Mexican drug wars are the result of killing for money, long time gang feuds, and because of the actions of high level drug lords. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has made progress in stopping the drug violence. He has done things such as dropping homicide numbers 30% and arresting Joaquin Guzman in 2014. Money is the main reason for The Drug War. If it wasnt for the billions of dollars involved, most people probably wouldnt get involved in the lifestyle. Mexico, on average, spends about $431,000,000 per year on illegal drugs. Mexican authorities have revealed that drug cartels earn an estimated $64,340,000,000 per year off of the United States alone! That is enough money to buy every NBA and NFL franchise (therichest.com). Its not only large industries that make billions of dollars. Forbes Magazine estimated that his net worth is in the billions. The United States Government announced that a $5,000,000 reward was waiting for anyone who gave information leading to his location and arrest. Car ·tel (kà ¤rˈtel) n. An association of manufacturers or suppliers with the purpose of maintaining prices at a high level and restricting competition. Drug cartels pretty much run Mexico. The three main cartels in Mexico are the Tijuana, Sinaloa, and the Mara Salvatrucha Cartel. The Tijuana Cartel traces back the the Sinaloa State. Founded in the 1960s, the founders were Pedro Aviles Perez, Rafael Caro Quintero, and Ernesto Fonseca. It is important to note that the gang is a shell of what it was in the late 1990s (Insight Crime, 2015). The Sinaloa Cartel, often described as the largest and most powerful drug trafficking organization in the Western Hemisphere, is where the famous drug lord, El Chapo, thrives from (Insight Crime, 2015). El Mayo is second in command with the Sinaloa. While El Chapo has been sidelined in jail for short periods of time El Mayo takes over and handles things to perfection. El Mayo is a 68 year old man that has been in the business his whole life. He was the leader of El Chapos escape from prison in 2001 and in 2015. The origins can be traced back to Guadalajara cartel. In 1985 the cartel was involved in the 1985 torture and murder of a U.S. drug enforcement agent. While Mexico and the United States were on the hunt for whoever was behind all of this the cartel split up into multiple groups. The Sinaloa Cartel came out the most powerful. The Mara Salvatrucha Cartel is considered the most powerful street gang in the Western Hemisphere. They rob and bully their way into neighborhoods and have turned to crimes such as human smuggling and drug trafficking. The Mara Salvatrucha Cartel (MS13) was founded in the barrios of Los Angeles in the 1980s. The gang was made from immigrants to the United States because of a civil war going on in El Salvador, their previous home. The gangs members are often decorated with tattoos all over their body, and often on their face. National Security and Foreign Affairs Reporter JP Carroll said, MS-13 tattoos partially mean loyalty to the group or family, but they mainly demonstrate the identification to a specific lifestyle, representing the culture of the street. Also in this scenario, tattoos were like like a baptism of the member into a group, representing the turning point of the appartenance (The Daily Caller). El Chapo is right behind Pablo Escobar when it comes to most notorious drug lords in history. El Chapo was born in La Tuna somewhere from 1954-1957. There are no existing birth certificates of him that we know of. El Chapo is a professional at escaping prison. His latest escape was in 2015 from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York. He escaped through a 60 foot deep tunnel leading him to freedom. In the 10th-floor Special Housing Unit, known by its acronym, the SHU, pronounced like the shoe, around a dozen prisoners spend 23 hours a day in 20-by-12-foot cells, prohibited from communicating with one another. Meals are eaten in cells, and exercise is in a recreation area specifically for these inmates (Fox News). El Chapo has a lot of power in Mexico and all over the world. He became the Sinaloa Cartel leader in 1980 and needless to say, hes a billionaire. The Mexican Drug Wars will end soon. The FBI is cracking down on leaders more and more every day. Drug lords like El Chapo are always going to be on the run, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto has already made a ridiculous amount of progress but he wont be stopped until the fighting stops. The Mexican people live in fear every day. The people of Columbia believed that just because you are involved in the drug scene doesnt make you a bad person. Pablo Escobar is known as a hero in Columbia. He took care of the people of his country. The people of Columbia saw him as a father.Behind every crime is a story of sadness- Enrique Pena Nieto. Health Care and Tort Reform Essay -- Medical Malpractice Claims

Rising health care costs have caused a national crisis, and all agree we must embrace reform. President Obama has initiated his national health care plan in the hopes of decreasing some of the inflated costs. When attempting to resolve this issue, one must always address the root of the problem. A large portion of these inflationary costs stem from malpractice lawsuits, and so begins the debate for tort reform: legislation which would cut the costs of health care by reducing the risk of civil litigation and exposure to fraudulent claims (â€Å"What†). However, the real factor at hand and the real cause of the industry’s high costs does not come solely from the cost incurred from these lawsuits, but from over-expenditures on the part of doctors, who over-test and over-analyze so as to safeguard themselves from the threat of malpractice lawsuits. Thus, large public support exists for tort reform. While the proposed legislation enacted through tort reform could cut the c osts of health care and positively transform the industry, it is ultimately unconstitutional and could not withstand judicial scrutiny. The crisis centers around malpractice lawsuits. When patients can sue doctors and come away with unreasonable profits, doctors must invest great sums in insurance to cover these lawsuits; additionally, to avoid any claim of malpractice, they feel compelled to overanalyze routine ailments, often investing great sums of money to rule out rare afflictions (Studdert). The impact of these procedures spikes health care costs by as much as 30% (Kimbuende), putting affordable health care out of reach for many, while benefiting parties profiting from the excessive lawsuits. Tort reform aims to eliminate these extraneous costs th... ...Scientific Publications, LLC., 2005. Web. 28 May 2010. . Studdert, David M. Top Down Leadership vs Bottom Up Leadership

Top down Leadership versus Bottom up Leadership Top down leadership has in many ways been the cultural gnome in terms of leadership styles for probably the longest time in history Likert termed it Exploitive authoritative. â€Å"In this style, the leader has a low concern for people and uses such methods as threats and other fear-based methods to achieve conformance. Communication is almost entirely downwards and the psychologically distant concerns of people are ignored. (Likert, 1969) Top down leadership has had a deep impact and so much intertwined with human culture that it is deemed to be simply the natural form of leadership. There are many other forms of leadership styles being nurtured so as to adapt with cultural changes and views on leadership roles, not to say they are any lesser but top down and bottom up were at both extremes of the leadership spectrum hence choosing to focus on the two. The structure of most organizations is based on an autocratic hierarchy that is based on the notion that the ‘workers’ need to be very closely supervised by those in ‘management’. In the distant past there may have been some truth to this assertion, however, in today’s world it is becoming increasingly spurious. Yet after a whole heap of culture change initiatives carried out in many organizations very little positive change has occurred. The reason is clear to see as the hierarchy is naturally committed to retaining the status quo between the roles of those called ‘bosses’ from those labeled the ‘workers’. (para11, Jaap, June 2011) Bottom-up leadership however â€Å"occurs when employees become innovative and questioning, making suggestions and pushing boundaries. â€Å"Thought leadership† is similar, although it is more about championing new ideas than managing people or helping a group achieve a goal. However, in b oth cases, the leadership can be directed upward, and it ends once senior managers accept the proposed ideas. † (Ki-Young & Mi-Jin 2008 summer p. 9) The concept of bottom up leadership requires a person to think outside of the box because it challenges mainstream beliefs and ideologies as regards to leadership roles. There is an oriental saying that states â€Å"cup would have to be poured out to allow room for more a filled†. Which implies putting aside of one’s wisdom so as to learn new material. Jaap characterization of a bottom up leader is that â€Å"An effective leader is considered to be someone who has the ability to share a compelling vision of a desirable outcome, create the environment in which a group of ndividuals work as a collaborative team focused on turning the vision into a reality. † (Par5 Jaap 2008) For most people the bottom up concept is relatively not applied as it really should due to the fact that people who are in leadership roles tend to have insecurities if more flexibility were to be offered to employees. The leaders deem that people would in actuality develop some form of negligence to those that are in position of authority. Take for instance the anti government protests that developed all across the Middle East, these protests are as a result of people who are frustrated by the top down leadership style being carried out by their leaders. Leadership as it was in these Arab nations was flowing only on a downstream when it came to the issue of communication, for the people’s concerns were being met by brutal force which included jail term and death in some cases to any person that seemed to offer an alternative to the top down leadership that was in place. The western world has a strong belief for equal rights for all and most importantly the right for all to live a fulfilled life and it is quite apparent as the Arabs began questioning for these same rights their leaders who had their heads buried under the sand were under the assumption that their usual scare tactics would quench the flames of revolution. However, these were not the usual times in Arab nations, the revolutionary flames burn on rampantly towards the leaders who have in all actuality failed to lead their nations due to the fact that they led as though they had eternity to rule, which was the greatest mistake to have done. They failed to observe the change in tide as the world around them continued to evolve, more and more people getting connected via internet. Social media had set up stage for people to voice their concerns as to what directions their leaders were getting them to travel, their lack of empathy and lost track of reality only looking for more ways and means to enlarge their bank accounts, assets and investments at the cost of people. Had the approach been taken on a bottom up approach the outcome would definitely have been different due to the fact they would have had empathy and understanding for a bottom up leader is as follows. The leader is part of the team and accepts that on occasions other members of the team may in fact take on the leadership role because they have the necessary capabilities to deal with particular situations more so than the nominated leader. The working environment is based on trust and respect for each other and the language is about our â€Å"leader, colleagues, team, accountability, achievement, success, and celebration† rather than â€Å"boss, staff, levels, roles, responsibility, remuneration, and appraisal†. There is a constant sharing of information between the team members and sincere dialogue about issues that may be contentious because colleagues have different perspectives and expectations. By transparently dialoguing these and all other issues the best solution is more likely to emerge because the team is able to make the tough call when necessary. They tend to avoid meetings and discussions based on consensus as they know from experience that this process tend to produce a solution driven by the lowest common denominator and frequently not what is needed by the organization. Par7 Jaap 2008) Not wanting to seem all too pessimistic towards top down leadership, there are certain areas such as the military organizations or police force where top down leadership is and strongly believe will continue to be employed in such areas to the unforeseeable future because the whole system is heavily based upon order. The military organizations in America are applaud able and should be exemplary for the rest of the world military to emulate, not to be deemed as a war fanatics’ but rather as an organization that understands what entails protecting its citizens. Leadership however is what directs them to war, peace, rescue missions etc for that is typical for those who are disciplined to follow top down leadership. â€Å"The whole system tends to absorb its people in focusing on rules and procedures designed to keep everyone in their appropriate place doing exactly what each tribe dictates its members should be doing. Most organizational language is about reinforcing the master/servant or parent/child relationship that appears to be an essential part of the military type of hierarchy â€Å"(par4 Jaap May 2008). Keeping this in mind we also have to understand that the discipline they have did not just appear out of nowhere, they had to undergo rigorous training in order to be transformed into a command structured person. Rivers stated in his research There is little question that one of the chief causes of the great prevalence of nervous disorders in the war is that vast numbers of men have been called upon to endure hardships and dangers of unprecedented severity with a quite insufficient training. There is equally little doubt that the special nature of the duties involved in trench warfare has taken a large part in determining the great frequency of neurosis. (Rivers 1920) An argument that a critic would say is that Rivers wrote the book almost a century back, technological advancements have been made in leaps and bounds to outweigh nervous disorders and the two to three month training period is very much sufficient. In the article The emotional effects of war T, Stan states â€Å"Some veterans of past wars have recovered from their traumatic experience with the right care, but what we need to ask ourselves is how we can protect them from mental trauma before they are even sent to fight, as opposed to treating their symptoms once the deep psychological damage has already been done. â€Å" (Stan. ) Unfortunately the fact of the matter remains to date that there are soldiers that suffer psychologically as a result of doing what their work requires, which is top down leadership at its raw definition. These military examples indicate that as much as human beings have made top down form of leadership a reality it can be extremely costly because war is not quite human nature otherwise there would not be reports of psychological issues as a result of following orders to the bitter end â€Å"The emotional effects of war on soldiers very often hinders their future achievements too as they find it impossible to imagine or plan. † (Stan. By majorly focusing on the psychological effects of extreme top down leadership one can deduce that as a result of exposing human natural emotions through such experiences has daunting and drastic effect that the individual would have to bear on a personal basis that even further affect the social aspect of life and family life. It takes training the human qualities to this image of a soldier to serve further implying how top down leadership does not quite just come naturally but is instilled on a person. The approach towards bottom up leadership simply put emphasis on doing what human beings do best which are being social creatures that we are. Human beings generally have more tendencies to show concern for just about anyone in distress disregarding all other factors such as race, nationality, etc. bottom up leadership works to build on the basis of establishing social relationship as its core foundations because people are really the most important asset any institution or organization could possibly have. Focusing on who people are as human beings develop empathy on the part of a leader and people tend to give more effort when they feel people actually do care and understand where they are coming from. â€Å"The emotional intelligent professional is a master of building relationships, which provide the foundation for developing the influence required to make things happen. To become a master yourself you must develop your emotional intelligence and learn. (Wall, 2008, p37) In life it has become apparent that common sense in most cases is not quite common for human beings have invested great time and effort towards scientific research as to how better efficient leadership could be achieved and the human factor was just but an element on the production line where efficiency of workers has and always been based on individual output with little or no attention to the needs of the laborer. For an organization to be firmly established to withstand the tides of change, greater emphasis should be made in the areas of relationship development as being the major component in the structural base. â€Å"As we facilitate organizational change efforts for client companies, we find it helpful to use a few nautical metaphors to remind them that they can’t control the winds or seas of change but they can adjust their sails† (Sipe & Frick 2009, p142). With the development of social media a much broader avenue has been made when it comes to unifying people bent on same beliefs and course of actions. The Middle East crisis is the emancipation of a top down form of governance at its wits end where fear tactics no longer played the factor, for people were united in common bond for social change as they deemed injustice was being played against their God given rights to freedom. The protesters dropped all they were doing, businesses, government; financial institutions and so on were all brought to a halt because the nation’s work force saw that it could no longer be business as usual when their leaders have no real concern for their needs. Now you may ask â€Å"what has this to do with culture change in organizations†. My response would be to say â€Å"quite a lot† as the reasons the various regimes fight to retain the status quo is a mirror image of what goes on in organizations. They may not use armed weapons but they do tend to make significant use of traditional, psychological and physical methods to quell any imminent revolt by employees. Jaap, T (par2 June 2011). Creativity is an essential part of the human nature that fosters new ideals, inventions and venture to greater heights by virtue of imagining beyond the sum of one’s present circumstances. In order to facilitate these qualities individuals have to have a form of freedom that makes it conducive for free flow of knowledge and ideas based on the fact that they no longer see the work they are doing as work but develop a sense of ownership and passion in the roles they have to perform in the organization. Most organizational leaders would highly appreciate workers that bring enthusiastic views and effort to work for it energizes the whole team. Not only would that develop a healthy working atmosphere but the productivity also will definitely be increased exponentially because everyone would understand that they are valued and all their inputs play a vital role in the operational process. Many leaders are more than likely going to argue that bottom up leadership could only cause chaos in the work place rather than productivity as a result of everyone having self expression as to how they look at life in the organization. The leaders in most cases forget an important concept that they themselves are called to serve. Rather than leading in a group top down leaders would rather lead ahead of the group which implies egotistic approach on the whole leadership process for the individual leader seeks to gain attention as being the alpha dog of the group. Bottom up leadership however is focused on developing team spirit in the organization where people unite to tackle the task at hand with clear objectives of getting the job done right and credit is made to the team as a whole. Not only is bottom up leadership a healthy form of leadership style it will in most cases increase employee retention hence ensuring that the organization has committed people on the team which does go a long way in comparison of trying to build passion in people who are disgruntled by leaders that only understand my way or the highway form of mindset The importance of team development could not be understated, they are what hold organizations together, by professionalizing conflicts in actuality if done well fosters healthy working relationships. Conflicts should not be taken personally and working roles need to be well defined so that those involved have good understanding of their responsibilities as pertaining to the task at hand. As being part of the team one has to be actively involved in the decision making process by adding input so as to take the participatory approach. While in a team it is also good to remember that when there happens to be problems in the organization it is very likely that 85% percent is as a result of system failure and 15% people A main force behind my thinking is the conviction that a management style from the bottom up, instead of top down is more effective. Main reason for this is that by being stimulating and facilitating people are better equipped to perform their tasks: higher motivation, less stressed and more able to absorb complexity†¦. I am convinced that if this style of management is in your brain, you have a more tolerating, productive and positive mind set, and one that is based upon trust instead of fear. I am convinced that educating around the globe about this style (instead of the old top-down directive leadership style) will have an amazing impact on more than just how businesses are run. It is about a better human-human interaction. (Par7 De Baar 2008) References Likert, R. (1967). The human organization: Its management and value, New York: McGraw-Hill Jaap, T (June 2011). Seat Belt and Booster Seats Essay

Seat Belt and Booster Seats Essay Seat Belt and Booster Seats Essay Primary Care Approaches Patricia L. Jackson Allen, MS, RN, PNP, FAAN Booster Seat Usage for Children 4 to 8 Years of Age Debbie Gearner Thompson, Brian Robertson C hild restraint devices have significantly decreased child injury and death rates as the result of motor vehicle crashes. Despite these devices, motor vehicle crashes remain the leading cause of death in children 4 years of age and older (Committee on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention, American Academy of Pediatrics [AAP], 2011). All 50 states and the District of Columbia have child safety seat laws, but they vary from state to state regarding children’s ages and types of restraint (Governor’s Highway Safety Association [GHSA], 2012). Only Arizona, Florida, and South Dakota do not require booster seats or other devices for children who have outgrown their child safety seats but are still too small to safely use an adult seat belt. Ages vary by state regarding when booster seats must be used. Although laws exist, the use of booster seats for young school-aged children has been consistently lower than national goals (Macy et al., 2012). Many parents are unaware of state laws regarding booster seat use (Macy et al., 2012) and believe that children over 4 years of age can be transitioned from traditional child car seats to using only a seat belt. Lack of awareness that booster seats are designed to reduce the risk of injury and death in the event of a collision by repositioning the child’s body so that the seat belt properly secures the child is also an issue for many parents (see Figure 1) (Arbogast, Jermakian, Kallan, & Durbin, 2009; Bruce et al., 2009; Durbin, Elliott, & Winston, 2003; Elliott, Kallan, Durbin, & Winston, 2006). Elliott and colleagues (2006) evaluated the effectiveness of child safety seats vs. seat belts and found that children 2 to 6 years of age had a reduction in nonfatal injuries and a 28% reduction in risk of death using booster seats when compared to wearing only seat belts. The authors stress that the child restraint system is designed to reduce the risk of ejection and distribute the force of the crash through structurally stronger bones rather than soft tissues. By limiting crash forces and potentially limiting the contact of the occupant with the vehicle, a child restraint system provides a mechanical protection advantage over seat belts. When children are transitioned to adult seat belts too early, the lap portion of the belt rides up over their abdomen, with the shoulder portion crossing the neck or face. The child may also sit too far forward in order for their knees to bend at the edge of the seat. Because of the inappropriate positioning of the seat belt, the 4- to 8-year-old child using the shoulder-lap belt only is three times more likely to sustain abdominal injuries than the child restrained in a booster seat (Partners for Child Passenger Safety, 2004). During the rapid deceleration of a motor vehicle accident, a jack-knifed body position compresses the abdominal organs and the spinal column against the seat belt (Committee on Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention, AAP, 2011). This phenomenon, called â€Å"Seat Belt Syndrome,† has been identified in cases involving serious cervical and lumbar spinal cord injury and intraabdominal injuries related to poorly fitting seat belts. How to Present Your Content

How to Present Your Content How to Present Your Content How to Present Your Content By Mark Nichol During a drive yesterday, I noticed again two ways that, in casual contexts, people are careless about their communication. For the first time, however, I realized that unfortunately, there’s a close analogy between the way many amateur writers present information and the way some well-meaning professionals (or other serious writers) do it. First, I noticed handwritten signs posted along roadsides: advertisements for yard sales and the like. You’ve likely noticed too how poorly many of these signs are executed: The sign maker begins to scrawl some information and runs out of space, compressing a phone number or other key information so that it is barely legible. Or perhaps the penmanship is poor, and the details are illegible. Or perhaps the print is too small or too wordy (or both) to be read by someone driving by at thirty or forty or fifty miles an hour or, worse, the message is styled in cursive writing. Occasionally, a sign exhibits a combination of some or all of these problems. Second, I passed between two small groups of people wielding signs at the crossroads of a small town. There were about a dozen protestors altogether, and though I had slowed to twenty miles per hour to negotiate the narrow road, I couldn’t focus on more than a couple of words on two or three signs before I had passed them. My passenger, who was at more leisure to read the messages, learned little more than I had: The people were on strike, but where they were employed and what they were striking for remained a mystery even though each of us had a few seconds to scan the signs, because, again, the print was sloppily written or too small or both, and the message was too wordy for motorists to take in during the brief opportunity. Unfortunately, handwritten signs aren’t the only form of communication in which communication fails because of poor planning and execution. We’ve all seen professionally prepared billboards with print too small to read, newspaper and magazine advertisements dense with tightly packed wording, and websites and blogs with poor design. The takeaway is the same, whether you’re selling knickknacks at a garage sale or widgets on a website: Don’t make your readers work hard to acquire your message. Produce the content carefully: Think about how readers will engage with the content at work, at home, on public transportation, in a passing vehicle? and design it accordingly. Plan your approach, trying several layouts and deciding which one works best for the purpose. Prioritize the information: What do you want readers to see first, second, third, and so on? Write the message, adapting the tone and the appearance to the readers’ circumstances and, if space is limited, trimming the content to the essentials. Ask for critiques, and return to the product later with a fresh set of eyes, then revise according to others’ suggestions and your own realizations. Team Communication

Team Communication Free Online Research Papers As companies find that sharing ideas creates a more productive work environment, they are encouraging their employees to work as a team. Effective communication is a key element to build among team members. Once a team is formed, communication processes are integrated. The team becomes familiar with each other’s actions and collectively uses these actions to their advantage. Past experiences are discussed and the knowledge of each member’s strength and weaknesses begins to develop. The strengths and weaknesses that have been identified can help the team to learn from each other and grow together. This will create a positive atmosphere in which individuals can feel more comfortable to share their ideas with their team. Conflicts will arise from time to time. They occur for different reasons such as an influence from another team member. For example, an individual may try to persuade the leader into going along with a suggestion that he/she has made. The member continues to bargain with the leader until the leader can reach a solution to compromise. Other members may not be satisfied with the new change. Problem solving begins among the group to try to overcome any obstacles. The group must discuss the conflicts and try to empathize with the current situation in order to resolve it efficiently. Depending on the obstacle, a tremendous amount of understanding may be required. Often times, people pass judgment too quickly. This tends to happen because the team is still in the process of developing and trust has not yet been fully established. Lack of communication will occur when an individual feels that they can not put their trust into another team member. They are no longer willing to share their ideas. They also become afraid to disagree with others. A team project will only be successful if the team is open to considering all ideas that have been given. After decisions have been made, they must reach a consensus as a team. Effective communication is extremely important when working as a team. A strong bond is formed. Once a relationship has been established, the results are endless.
